COUNTDOWN FESTIVAL

Every part of Bangkok’s premium shopping area will be brilliantly illuminated, including the hotels, the buildings, the area in front of the plaza, and the pedestrian bridges. All are invited to join the countdown in front of Central World Plaza.

THAILAND INTERNATIONAL BALLOON FESTIVAL 2010
Pak Chong, Nakhon Ratchasima
Thailand International Balloon Festival will be up and away, with more than 60 hot-air balloons from countries around the world, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy, Austria, Sweden, Denmark, South Africa, Croatia, and Malaysia. This spectator and photographer’s delight is expected to attract as many as 300,000 visitors to the festival site at War Dog Battalion in Pak Chong district. Many more will be watching skywards from afar.

DOK BUA TONG BLOOMING SEASON
Doi Mae U-Kho, Mae Hong Son
The Dok Bua Tong, or wild sunflowers, bloom during November, painting the entire hilly area of Doi Mae U-Kho in Khun Yuam district. They are as yellow as daisies and almost as large as sunflowers. The blossoms are profuse, but only last for a month. Camping sites are available during the Bua Tong blooming season.

RIVER KWAI BRIDGE WEEK
Kanchanaburi
Each year in late November to early December, the world famous River Kwai Bridge, built by allied prisoners-of-war during World War II, becomes the focal point of celebrations. Event highlights include historical and archaeological exhibits, a carnival, folk and cultural performances, rides on World War II vintage trains, and a spectacular light and sound presentation re-enacting the bridge's World War II legacy.

MUSICAL SYMPHONY AT THE PALACE
Phra Narai Ratchanivet Palace, Lop Buri
The historic city of Lop Buri enjoyed tremendous prosperity for over 3,000 years. At Phra Narai Ratchanivet Palace, the Music Symphony at the Palace is organized annually by the Fine Arts Department and performed by the National Symphony Orchestra. Highlights include a medley of royal compositions, traditional Thai music, Thai folk music, contemporary Thai music, and a guided tour of Phra Narai Ratchanivet Palace and Lop Buri National Museum.
